Workshop on Integrating Systematic Review & Meta-analysis into Research Excellence

The Department of Community Medicine at Jubilee Mission Medical College & RI has conducted a workshop on “Systematic Review & Meta-analysis” on March 26 and 27, 2025. Around 68 healthcare professionals, including UG and PG students and faculty members from different medical colleges, participated in the workshop.

At the official function, Dr. Joe Thomas (Professor and Head, Dept of Community Medicine, JMMC&RI) give a welcome speech. Following this, Fr. Renny Mundenkurian (Director, JMMCRI) inaugurated the workshop, and Dr. M.A. Andrews (Vice Principal, JMMCRI) delivered the keynote address. Dr. Shibu Kallivalappil (Medical Supt, JMMCRI) gave the felicitation speech. During the event, DrJobinse Jose (Asst. Professor, Dept of Community Medicine, JMMCRI) expressed the vote of thanks.

The two-day program was led by Dr. Prasanna Mithra (Professor and Head, Community Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore) and Dr. Ramesh Holla (Associate Professor, Community Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore). The session included a comprehensive overview of the best methodologies for conducting a systematic review, statistical techniques, and a demonstration of RevMan software to perform a meta-analysis. The workshop served as an excellent platform to gain a foundational understanding of systematic review and meta-analysis.
