WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY ON 18/03/2026
Department of Community Medicine in association with the Institutional Research Committee, JMMC & RI, conducted a workshop on research methodology for the 2025 batch post-graduates on 18/03/2026.
The programme started with a silent prayer, a welcome address delivered by Dr Bins M John, PG Teaching Coordinator, Professor of Medicine. The inauguration of the programme was held by Fr Renny Mundenkurien, Director, with felicitations by Principal Dr M A Andrews, Dr Benny Joseph, CEO JMMC & RI.
The program was structured to provide comprehensive training in research methodology. Junior Residents were divided into groups to facilitate interactive learning. Each group was guided by faculty of the Department of Community Medicine through key components of research, including study design and protocol development. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in discussions, and one member from each group presented their assigned topic to enhance peer learning and presentation skills.
A dedicated session on research ethics was delivered by Dr. Chitra Valsan, Head of the Department of Microbiology, emphasises the importance of ethical principles in medical research. During the session, the PG e-logbook was officially launched, marking an important step in documenting the academic and research activities of postgraduate students.
The Research Methodology Program was conducted from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, ensuring a full day of academic engagement. The sessions were well-coordinated and provided valuable insights into conducting systematic and ethical research.
