SCALUP workshop on Scale Development and Validation 

The SCALUP Workshop on “Scale Development and Validation” was jointly organized by the Departments of Community Medicine and Pharmacology at Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute in association with the Indian Council of Medical Research – National Task Force Project on Safe and Rational Use of Medicines. Conducted from 3rd to 5th June 2025, the workshop aimed to provide both foundational and advanced training in psychometric scale development and validation for health researchers.

The workshop featured expert sessions led by distinguished resource persons from various academic and research institutions. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Joe Thomas, Dr. Raviprasad Varma, and Dr. Anish T S. Contributions were also made by PhD scholars from SCTIMST, including Dr. Prinu Jose, Dr. Anju R, Dr. Rehna C, Dr. Irfana Issath, and Dr. Muhammed Thareekh Bin Basheer.

The workshop provided participants with hands-on exposure to various stages of scale construction, validation techniques, psychometric analysis, and research applications in healthcare. The program served as a valuable academic platform for researchers and postgraduate students to strengthen their methodological skills in developing reliable and valid research instruments.
