As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Jubilee Mission Medical College & RI, Thrissur, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology organized an International Women’s Day celebration and a free gynecological cancer screening camp for female police officers on 7 March 2026.

The program was inaugurated by Shri. Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh IPS, City Police Commissioner, Thrissur. The function was presided over by Fr. Renny Mundenkurian, Director, JMMCRI, and Dr. Bindu Menon, Professor and Head of the Department of OBG, delivered the welcome address.

Women’s Day messages were delivered by Dr. Sareena Gilvaz, Mrs. Shanta Menon, Founder of Swasraya Charitable Trust, and Mrs. Vardhini Prakash and Mrs. Madhumati Mahesh, Executive Directors of Kalyan Hypermarket.Dr. Shibu C Kalliayilappil, Medical Superintendent, spoke on “Celebrating Womanhood at JMMCRI.” Felicitation was offered by Fr. Terin Mullakara . Dr. Aswath Kumar gave a talk on Prevention of Gynaecological cancers and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Lola Ramachandran. The program was attended by a total of around 150 peoples including faculty members from various departments, MBBS Students & Patients.

The event was followed by a free gynecological cancer screening camp involving all faculty members of OBG department including clinical examination, Pap smear testing, and pelvic ultrasound screening for female police personnels with 22 registrants.
