Continuing Medical Education (CME), Training Programmes and other activities conducted by Dept of Microbiology – 2026

As part of the observance of World Hand Hygiene Day 2026, the Department of Infection Prevention and Control and Department of Microbiology, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 5th May 2026 for doctors.

The CME featured an interactive session on “Preventive Aspects of Surgical Site Infections”, delivered by Dr. Praveen A. J., Consultant, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Microvascular Surgery, Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva. The session highlighted evidence-based strategies for the prevention of surgical site infections, emphasizing the importance of adherence to infection prevention practices, perioperative care bundles, hand hygiene, and multidisciplinary collaboration in improving patient outcomes.

The programme was attended by doctors, who actively participated in the discussions and interactions. The session provided valuable insights into current best practices in surgical site infection prevention and reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting patient safety and quality healthcare through effective infection prevention and control measures.
