The IADVL Kerala SIG Dermatopathology Workshop which was jointly venture between Departments of Dermatology and Pathology was conducted successfully today at Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur, on 19th July 2026 with 100 registrations and 73 delegates participating.

The programme was inaugurated at 9:30 am by Fr. Renny Mundenkurian, Director, Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute. The inaugural function was attended by Dr. David Pudukadan, President, IADVL Kerala; Fr. Terin Mullakara, Assistant Director; Dr. Shibu Kallivayalil, Superintendent; Dr. Mercy Paul Andrews, Head, Department of Dermatology; Dr. Deepthy Vijayaraghavan, Head, Department of Pathology; Dr. Varghese James, Organising Chairman; and Dr. Aiswarya Varghese, Organising Secretary.

The scientific programme featured seven lectures delivered by Dr. Sunitha Balakrishnan, Dr. G. Nandakumar, Dr. Maninder Kaur, Dr. Deepthy Vijayaraghavan, Dr. C. Brijesh, Dr. G. Nandakumar, and Dr. Usha Mary Abraham, covering the major reaction patterns in dermatopathology and cutaneous neoplasms. The lecture sessions concluded at approximately 12:50 pm.

The scientific sessions were chaired by Dr. Abel Francis, Head, Department of Dermatology, Amala Institute of Medical Sciences; Dr. Mercy Paul Andrews; Dr. Ajithkumar K., Professor of Dermatology, Jubilee Mission Medical College; and Dr. Betsy Joe Ambooken, Head, Department of Dermatology, Government Medical College, Thrissur.

Following lunch, delegates participated in an interactive dermatopathology slide-viewing workshop and this continued until 4:00 pm, providing valuable practical learning and clinicopathological correlation. This was arranged by unwavering effort of Pathology department of Jubilee Mission Medical College including Dr Deepthy and Dr Aswathy and their team.

The workshop witnessed excellent academic interaction and enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students and practicing dermatologists, making it a highly successful educational programme.
