Overview

The ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) department, also known as Otolaryngology, is a vital component of healthcare services specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck regions.

This department is staffed by highly skilled otolaryngologists who are trained to address a wide range of conditions, including hearing loss, sinusitis, allergies, tonsillitis, voice disorders, and head and neck cancers, among others.

History of Department

  • ENT Department was established in 1983 and ever since then the department is devoted in maintaining the health care of community at an affordable cost. Then department was upgraded when the hospital attained the status of medical college in 2003.Phonosurgery clinic is an added attraction to the department.

  • OP section – well organised OPD rooms and one procedure room for minor procedures and endoscopies like:

    •  Video laryngoscopy with Pentax & Storz flexible laryngoscope with recording facility
    •  Video nasal endoscopy
    •  Otomicroscopy
    •  Video stroboscopy
  • Computerised Electronystagmography (ENG) facilities
  • Temporal bone laboratory equipped with operating microscope , microdrill, suction, temporal bone holders and temporal bones.

  • Audiology and speech unit with auditory physiology lab

    • Facilities for BERA, OAE, ASSR, VEMP, pure tone audiometry, impedence audiometry
    • Computer software for frequency analysis and speech therapy equipped with AEROPHONOSCOPE & NASAL VIEW.

  • Operation Theatre facilities
