Department wishes to be the best pathology department in the state of Kerala in the next five years. Immediate priorities include to start a Flowcytometry lab and start digitization of slides and storage of slides in the digitized format. Establishment of Telepathology for better utilization of knowledge and resources for the benefit of people of remote areas of the country are also on the anvil.

The three pillars of Pathology department are Medical education, Patient care & Medical research. The mission of pathology laboratory is to provide the most accurate diagnostic, prognostic and theranostic information for the patient care from the specimen given to the laboratory, in the minimum possible time. The medical educational aspect of the department of pathology include undergraduate and postgraduate education in pathology to mould next generation of basic doctors, competent pathology consultants and to train technicians for the health needs of the country. Medical Research in the field of pathology is our ambition.
