The Department of General Surgery offers ethical, evidence -based and patient-centered surgical care utilising contemporary surgical techniques. The skilled and proficient staff contribute to excellence in medical education and research.

  • Surgical Team :

    The department comprises of experienced General Surgeons who are trained in the management of a broad spectrum of elective and emergency surgical conditions. The team of consultants, senior residents, post graduate trainees and interns work round the clock to provide continuous and effective surgical management while maintaining high standards of patient care.

  • Operation Theatre :

    Our operation theatre complex is equipped with advanced surgical and anesthetic equipment for performing both major and minor surgical procedures. The theaters observe stringent aseptic protocols and infection prevention strategies. Routine surgical procedures include open and laparoscopic techniques for hernia repairs, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, as well as surgeries on the gastrointestinal tract, breast, thyroid, and endocrine organs, along with skin and soft tissue surgeries, besides operations for trauma, and emergencies.

  • Minimal Access and Laparoscopic Surgery :

    The department is equipped with laparoscopic facilities which allow for reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and improved cosmetic outcomes.

  • Surgical ICU :

    The fully equipped ICU is designed for post-operative care, invasive monitoring, and multidisciplinary management of high risk surgical patients and those in sepsis.

  • Wards :

    Two well equipped wards for male and female patients offer amenities such as central nursing stations, designated beds with centralized oxygen support, provision for continuous monitoring, and in addition, separate rooms for minor procedures and advanced wound care.

  • Advanced Critical Care Unit(ACCU) :

    The critical care team in our ACCU offers valuable assistance in managing critically ill surgical patients. The available facilities include ventilator support, invasive monitoring, dialysis, multidisciplinary management and round-the-clock support from intensive care physicians.
