Institutional Research Committee

Sub: Reconstitution of Institutional Research Committee – reg:-

The main aims of an Institutional Research Committee (IRC) are to promote scientific inquiry. review and approve research proposals, and ensure ethical and high-quality standards across all institutional studies.

In suppression to office order No.B/659/2024/JMMC & RI dated 31/08/2024, the competent authority has been pleased to reconstitute the Institutional Research Committee. The revised composition of the mess committee is as follows:

Objectives:

  • Protocol Review: Receive, critically evaluate, and approve or reject research project proposals before implementation.
  • Quality Control: Monitor ongoing research performance, progress, and final reports to minimize errors or academic misconduct.
  • Ethical Oversight: Work alongside or function as an ethics review mechanism to protect the rights, safety, and welfare of study participants.
  • Facilitate Collaboration: Build interdisciplinary teamwork and foster national or international research partnerships.
  • Capacity Building: Organize training, seminars, and workshops to help researchers improve their grant-writing and publishing skills.
