Facilities

The Department of Anatomy is equipped with comprehensive infrastructure to support high-quality teaching, training, and research.

  • Dissection Hall

A spacious, well-ventilated hall with adequate lighting, equipped with multiple dissection tables, seating arrangements, audiovisual aids, X-ray viewing facilities, articulated skeletons, anatomical charts, and modern dissection instruments. Proper hygiene, drainage, and biomedical waste disposal systems are strictly maintained. Locker facilities are available for students.

  • Embalming and Body Storage Facilities

A dedicated embalming room equipped with modern pressure embalming systems is located adjacent to the dissection hall. The department also maintains reinforced fiber and insulated concrete tanks for cadaver preservation, along with cold storage facilities and separate containers for regional specimens.

  • Museum

The museum features region-wise displays of wet and dry specimens, skeletons, embryological and neuroanatomical models, and educational charts. A dedicated room provides disarticulated bone sets for academic study and research.

  • Histology Laboratory

Equipped with monocular, binocular, and trinocular microscopes with camera attachment for demonstration and discussion. Facilities for in-house slide preparation and audiovisual teaching aids are also available.

  • Demonstration and Lecture Rooms

Modern teaching spaces equipped with LCD projectors, smart boards, and X-ray viewing facilities to support small group learning and interactive sessions.

  • Department Library-cum-Seminar Room

Stocked with standard anatomical textbooks, atlases, and dissection manuals, providing a conducive environment for self-learning and academic discussions.
